Therapy and Psychiatry in Spanish
Some things are easier to say in the language you grew up with. At Mind Body Seven, several clinicians work in both Spanish and English, so you, your child or your parents can talk about what matters in the language that feels most natural.
En español: En Mind Body Seven, varias de nuestras profesionales atienden en español y en inglés. Ofrecemos terapia y atención psiquiátrica para niños, adolescentes, adultos y familias en Brooklyn.
Who provides care in Spanish
- Dr. Linda Perez-Puelles, PsyD is a bilingual, bicultural clinical psychologist with more than 17 years of experience with children, adolescents, adults and families. Her work includes play therapy, trauma-focused care and support for families under complex stress.
- Dr. Beth Wecksell, PsyD is a bilingual clinical psychologist who provides individual, group and family therapy to adolescents and adults, with intensive training in DBT, IFS and attachment-focused EMDR.

What we help with
Bilingual care is available across the concerns our clinicians already treat, including:
- Anxiety and panic and depression
- Trauma and PTSD
- Children's and teens' emotional and behavioral concerns, including play therapy
- Family stress and relationships
- Emotional regulation and DBT
- Pregnancy and postpartum mental health
Why language matters in therapy
Therapy depends on being understood: not only your words, but the expressions, humor and family ideas behind them. Many bilingual people find that some memories and feelings live in one language more than the other. Being able to move between Spanish and English in the same session can make it easier to reach them.
Language also matters for families. When a child is most comfortable in English and a parent in Spanish, a bilingual clinician can include everyone without an interpreter in the room.
